A paid long-term placement in a secondary school to develop your teaching practice in a real classroom environment.

Receive University-Quality Training

Weekly online tutoring sessions taught by the University of Sunderland, covering condensed PGCE content delivered in the evenings for convenience.

Guarantee Your Path Forward

Upon completion, recieve a course certificate and guaranteed interview for the University of Sunderland's PGCE programme.

Programme details

Placement location

Work at a secondary school within reasonable commuting distance to you. We're seeking placements across the North East, Midlands, Manchester and London. 

Subject specialists

We're looking for graduates with degrees in STEM and suitable subjects such as Maths, English, Science, Design & Technology, and Languages. 

Course format

A condensed version of the PGCE, delivered entirely online in the evenings—perfect for fitting around your schedule. 

Certificate format

Complete the programme and receive a certificate of completion plus a guaranteed interview for our PGCE (online or in-person) at University of Sunderland.

What you'll need:

A passion to work in education and start a career as a subject specialist secondary school teacher.

A bachelor's degree in a a STEM or suitable subject (Maths, English, Science, DT, Languages) 

Commitment to complete the 12-week placement and online training 

DBS clearance eligibility and background check
